Publishing fine books since 1925
History

Caxton Press has been producing trade titles for more than 80 years. In 1925, most book publishers were located in the eastern United States. Caxton owner, J.H. Gipson, realized it was difficult for new writers, particularly those in the West, to attract the attention of the eastern presses. Gipson founded the publishing division to give those writers a voice. Western Americana non-fiction remains our focus today at Caxton. We define Western Americana as almost any topic that deals with the people or culture of the West, past and present.
