The Author:
Carol MacGregor, a Idaho native, is adjunct professor of history at Boise State University. She lectures on the American West for the speakers' bureau of the Idaho Humanities Council. Her previously-published books include Shoshoni Pony, Lewis and Clark and the Native American Horse and The Journals of Patrick Gass of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
The Artist:
Gaye Hoopes is one of Idaho's premier watercolor painters. He was an associate professor of art at Boise State University for twenty-five years. He has illustrated children's books and magazines, worked on film animation and developed instructional videos on watercolor painting.
